Sant Narcís Fair and Festival

Sant Narcís Fair and Festival

If you want to experience the more traditional side of Sant Narcís, the parade of gegants (giant papier mâché figures whose carriers are completely hidden inside) and capgrossos (large papier mâché heads worn on the carriers’ heads) is highly recommended, as is the correfoc (fire run), the sardana dancing or the diada castellera (day of human towers). But you really have to visit the nerve centre of the festival, in the park of La Devesa. The park’s avenues of plane trees are taken over by fairground attractions and the historical Trade Fair, a showcase for the latest industrial, farming and consumer products.

If you’re looking for some nightlife, La Copa is the place for you, with free concerts every night and plenty of entertainment for night owls in the barraques zone. You can also go dancing in other venues such as the Envelat, where typical festival groups perform.
